Our History

Medimetrix was founded by Joseph M. Davis, Ph.D., in 1987, with the goal of facilitating business relationships between hospitals, insurers and physicians – particularly risk based relationships.

By the mid 90s, Medimetrix had grown into the largest stand-alone strategic consulting practice in the country and was providing services to all sectors of the health care industry. Medimetrix had locations in several cities and was headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio.

In the early 2000s, Medimetrix began selling off most of its practices and narrowed its focus to strategic engagements primarily for health systems and insurers. During  this same period, Medimetrix developed the Spirit of Women program, which is used today in more than eighty health systems nation-wide, as well as the HeartCaring program, which can be found in  almost fifty health systems.

In 2005, Medimetrix began narrowing its practice primarily to existing relationships and only occasionally takes on a new client; typically an organization lacking meaningful history at an executive level. In 2007, Medimetrix created a new parent company, Spirit Health Group, which also serves as the umbrella for the Spirit of Women® Hospital Network, The HeartCaring® Hospital Network, Spirit Health MediaTM and Spirit Health PartnershipsTM.
